Bulgaria - a small piece of heaven, combining the remarkable beauty of the azure calm sea and the majestic mountain peaks covered with snow-caps. Occupying only 2% of the territory of Europe, Bulgaria has been generously endowed by nature with an exceptional variety of landscapes, a mild, temperate-continental climate suitable for recreation all the year round, a wealth of the flora and fauna, numerous healing minerals springs.

There are glacial lakes in Pirin Mountain, the beautiful Popinolunski waterfall in the honeymoons area, and the pyramids of Melnik. Pirin national park has been included in the list of UNESCO for world natural and cultural heritage.

Stara Planina is characterized be great number of caves and waterfalls. Here you will find the Iskar defile, the caves Ledenika and Elata, the Central Balkan national park, the Blue Stones natural park.

Interesting national phenomena has been sculptured by nature itself in the Rodopi mountain, sich as caves, defiles, rock, pyramids, rock mushrooms, the most famous of which are: the gorges of Trigrad, Buinovsko, the caves of Dyavolskoto Gurlo(the devil’s throat), Yagodinska, Uhlovitsa, Chudnite mostove(the marvellous bridges).

There are also wonderful winter resorts and resort villages in the mountains with splendid conditions for recreation and tourism: Borovets, Semkovo, Pamporovo, Bansko, Smoljan, Devin, Chepelare, etc.

The eastern Bulgarian coast washed by the Black Sea. 380 km marvellous stretch of beaches, calm and safe sea, clear, water and healthy air, fine golden sand, and natural dunes, mineral water springs, blue flag winning resorts, holiday villages and campsites. Average air temperature in the summer is about 28C, water -25C. There are more than 240 hours of sunshine in May and September and more than 300 hours in July and August.

The two international airports of Varna and Bourgas connect the Bulgarian Riviera to the world.

Clean and calm sea with low sloping sandy bottom, wide beaches with fine grain golden sands, venerable forest and numerous mineral springs. All these features make the black sea coast an attractive place for Bulgarian and foreign holiday makers. Even the most refined requirements will be satisfied by the resorts:
Albena, Golden Sands, Sunny Beach, St. Konstantin and Helen, Sozopol, Nesebar etc.

On the Black sea coast there are also a great number of opportunities for ecological tourism.
Also Bulgaria is coutry with many quiet, ecologically clean, distinctive places, where you have the chance to enjoy the gorgeous nature and in the same time dive in the atmosphere of the traditional Bulgarian culture and customs. Elena and its neighbourhood, Shiroka Luka and environs, Melnik, Tryavna, Rupite, Kotel, Zheravna, Bozhentsi, Arbanasi, Asparuhovo, Kovachevtsi, Koprivshtica are just a few of the possible destinations.

Bulgaria is proud of its 3 national and 10 naural parks preserving the veriety, beauty, and uniqueness of its natural and cultural heritage. These are: Rila, Pirin, Central Balkan national parks and the Rusenski Lom, Vrachanski Balkan, Stranndza, Persina, Shumensko plato, Golden Sands, Vitosha, Sinite Kamani, Rila Monastery and Bulgarkanatural ones. The Sreburna reserve, that is included in the list of UNSECO, is also of great interest.

One of Bulgaria’s greatest treasures are the healing mineral springs strewing its whole tertiary-over 600 natural springs and over 370 artificial ones, that have become famous for their healing properties in many countries. The combination of favourable climate, mineral waters and beautiful nature is the reason for many people to choose the balneological resorts for their holiday combining their medical treatment with relaxation and recreation. Some of the most familiar balneological resort are: Vilengrad, Narechen, Varshets, Kyustendil, Kostenets, Sapareva Banya (with the hottest mineral waters), Sandanski, Sofia, Pomorie, Pavel Banya, Hisrya.
